It all started with my mum.
I was 20 when she had my sister, and I watched her juggle everything—from prams to snacks to nappies—using bags that were either too bulky, too heavy to be practical, or simply too hard to manage. A quick trip to the shops turned into a full-blown operation. Finding anything in those bags? Like solving a puzzle with no picture on the box.
But it wasn’t just my mum.
As a managing consultant, I’ve spent years helping clients solve complex problems—and this one was hiding in plain sight. Through conversations with friends who were new parents (especially dads), I started hearing the same thing: “There’s nothing out there that works for me.” Most of them defaulted to using gym bags or basic backpacks—not because they wanted to, but because traditional nappy bags just didn’t work.
So I approached it like I would with any product challenge - User interviews. Problem mapping. Ideation. Rapid discovery & feedback loops.
What I learned was simple: Parents didn’t just need another “pretty” nappy bag. They needed one that could be shared. One they weren’t embarrassed to carry. One that just worked—whether they were out for 10 minutes or all day.
That’s how Boogie was born.
